The AACNA Natural Disaster Committee in Borama has, early this March, for the third time, visited the areas in Awdal struck by the recent freezing rains on January of this year. The Committee distributed 40 tons of food (rice, sugar and oil) to the most needy areas comprising 15 villages and surrounding areas.
The Awdal Disaster Committee representing AACNA (Awdal Association of North America) has received donations from the Awdalian Diaspora, mostly in North America, and Kuwait. AACNA undertook a massive campaign to mobilise the Awdalian Diaspora which has successfully raised over $62,000 US.
